Richard, George & Bex

So, you would like to know a little more about us? My name's Richard and together with Georgie (my wife) and Bex (my long-standing partner in crime) I run Angelic Photo. I've been a photographer for since 1997, professional since mid-2004. I love my job and children but have a nasty knack of being a perfectionist - this helps a great deal with our photography because I'm always searching for new ways to make our wedding photos better. I love using off-camera flash to make bridal portraits especially look more amazing wedding by wedding. I love being unobtrusive, approachable and friendly, oh, and I *love* cake.

Georgina is my wife, she puts in a lot of time towards the admin side of our business, as well as being an excellent photographer. She concerns herself greatly with the detail of your wedding day and can often be found behind a bush trying to get that perfect uninhibited snapshot of emotion (not in a creepy way!).

Bex is my long-standing friend from university (where we studied photography) and has been photographing with us on a professional level since the first of our children arrived in 2006. She has a great eye for an aesthetically appealing photo and anything quirky at your wedding.

Richard Georgie Bex
I indulge myself in every style imaginable at weddings, taking photos of uninhibited emotional moments, details, quirky bits, group shots and so on, but we find two photographers is essential in capturing every aspect of your special day. We use techniques gleaned from various styles including reportage, candid, photojournalistic, formal, fly on the wall and so on to create a unique blend of coverage. Basically, we love taking photographs and we do so with the utmost care, professionalism and devotion towards you and your guests. Because we have three on our team it also means that we have in-house backup providing the same quality and dedication no matter what. I personally attend each and every wedding (it takes a lot to keep me away!) with either Bex or George in attendance. Unlike many we never outsource our work, even in cases of illness.

Our equipment

Using only digital cameras we can quickly and effectively cover every aspect of your wedding. We carry five cameras with us at all times, four of which have permanent lenses attached covering a range from ultra wide to very close. We do this because you never know what you're going to need, and whilst we're busy getting spontaneous photos of your wedding day, most other photographers are still fumbling in their bags to change the lens. Some may call this excessive, we just like to be prepared. Working with five cameras means that we also have in-built backup and backups of backups - you can never be too careful!

For the techinically minded, our cameras are Canon's EOS 7Ds, with the lenses being Canon's finest (mostly the much-coveted 'L' series) covering a huge range from the 10-22mm f/3.5-f.4,5 for special occasions, 16-35mm f/2.8 L for my personal wide angle coverage, 24-70mm f/2.8 for Bex/George's general purpose lens through to 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS for closeup work and working unobtrusively. We carry a stock of five 480EX flashes along with multiple tripods, umbrellas, wireless triggers and colour filters to really make something special. Our cases are Peli cases (widely regarded as the best) and we edit on PC.
